Proposals are invited from German institutions of higher education looking to establish focussed research centres in the humanities or social sciences.
Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG - German Research Foundation) offers funding for the establishment of new Centres for Advanced Studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences at institutions of higher education in Germany. These centres are designed to meet the particular needs of the comparatively open-ended approaches and experimental character of research in the field. Headed by experienced and well-established researchers, the Centres for Advanced Studies are set up around broadly defined topics and should tie in with existing interests and strengths at the host research institution. The thematic focus can be chosen freely.
