National initiative to support research and development (R&D) as well as knowledge transfer projects that are dedicated to strengthening the resilience of plant cultivation in the face of changes to climate conditions.
To address the particular challenges arising from extreme weather events, extended heat and drought periods, higher likelihood of late frost and increased pest-related stress, Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft (BMEL - German Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture) has launched a new funding initiative with a focus on climate change adaptation for plant production.
