05-09-2022 - Reproductive Health Research: New BMBF Initiative Supports Career Development of Junior Scientists
The newly launched national initiative offers funding for German universities to establish Centres for Young Talent in Reproductive Health as a means to support the future development of the research field.
The funding initiative Interdisciplinary Centres for Young Talent in Reproductive Health (Interdisziplinäre Nachwuchszentren für reproduktive Gesundheit) was established by Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF - Federal Ministry for Education and Research) with the aim to provide structural support for the research area of reproductive health at university medical schools in Germany as well as incentivise junior researchers in this field to continue their research in the area beyond their doctorate. A key focus of the initiative is on translational and clinical reproduction research for disease prevention and the preservation of health as well as research on social questions surrounding reproductive health.
