14-10-2022 - New BMBF Call Supports Biology-inspired Material Research
New call offers funding for research, development and innovation projects in Germany which use biological principles as the starting point for developing novel approaches to specific technological challenges in the field of material research.
This new call by Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung (BMBF - Federal Ministry for Education and Research) is designed to build on the results of the initial idea competition which took place in 2020. The aim is to release the existing innovation potential of the biologisation of technology and promote the industrial application of this approach while also improving Germany’s technological sovereignty in the field of material research. Through this programme, researchers in Germany gain access to support for the development of novel insights in the field of biologically inspired materials, methods and tools and thus help to drive competitive options for application and commercialisation.
