21-10-2022 - Animal Welfare of Small Ruminants: New BMEL Call Released
Programme supports research and development projects in Germany that address challenges and opportunities for improved animal welfare of small ruminants in livestock husbandry such as goats and sheep.
The call ‘Measures to Improve the Animal Welfare of Small Ruminants’ (Maßnahmen zur Verbesserung des Tierwohls bei kleinen Wiederkäuern) is part of the Federal Livestock Husbandry Programme (Bundesprogramms Nutztierhaltung) of Bundesministerium für Ernährung und Landwirtschaft (BMEL - German Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture). As such, it is designed to contribute to the overall aim of improved animal husbandry conditions in Germany with the aim of developing a future-oriented, sustainable yet economically viable farming and food production sector.
