Funding for English higher education institutions to conduct small research projects addressing the National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise's research priorities of: productive, smart, engaged and resilient rural economies and enterprise.
The National Innovation Centre for Rural Enterprise (NICRE) was established in September 2020 with funding from Research England to foster rural enterprise and unlock potential in the UK’s rural economies. NICRE’s founding partners are Newcastle University’s Centre for Rural Economy and Business School, the University of Warwick's Enterprise Research Centre, and the Countryside and Community Research Institute of the University of Gloucestershire and the Royal Agricultural University.
