This new pilot scheme is offering funding for adventurous, early stage research ideas that have the potential to transform the fundamental understanding of biological systems.
The Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) has launched the Pioneer Awards - Early Stage Frontier Bioscience Research call for original early stage research with the potential to transform the fundamental understanding of biological systems. It is a pilot scheme and will trial a modified approach to assess and prioritise funding for adventurous, early stage research ideas that might struggle to compete in standard funding opportunities.
