Annual award offers €500,000 for outstanding contributions to the protection and conservation of the environment, climate and biodiversity.
The annual German Environmental Award (Deutscher Umweltpreis) by Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt (DBU - German Federal Environment Foundation) honours achievements which make a decisive and exemplary contribution to the protection and preservation of our present and future environment. This may take the shape of innovative products and technical improvements as well as research results or life achievements in sustainable environmental protection. The award is the most highly endowed prize of its kind in Europe.
