A call for proposals has been launched on Friedrich ataxia by Fondation Maladies Rares and AFAF. French researchers are welcome to apply for funding to improve understanding, treatment and management of the condition.
Fondation Maladies Rares (FMR - Foundation for Rare Diseases) is an umbrella organisation created within the framework of France's second National Rare Diseases Plan. It promotes scientific cooperation in all aspects of research on rare diseases. The AFAF (Association Française de l'Ataxie de Friedreich - French Friedrich’s Ataxia Association) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to research into Friedrich ataxia. Its main activities include supporting basic and clinical research into the condition, providing fundraising opportunities and improving the quality of life of Friedrich ataxia patients.
