A PhD fellowship in the UK is available to medical graduates from the EEA pursuing a career as an academic clinician.
The Chain-Florey Clinical Research scheme is jointly funded by the Medical Research Council (MRC) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) through the Imperial Biomedical Research Centre. The scheme was established in 2009 to facilitate the translation of basic science for clinical benefit. It provides clinicians at various stages of clinical training with the opportunity to do basic science research in the laboratories of the MRC London Institute of Medical Sciences (LMS).
