16-06-2023 - Equitable Nature-Based Climate Resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa - New Transdisciplinary Research Programme
Funding for equitable UK-Sub-Saharan African partnerships to address climate resilience research challenges. There are three priority themes relating to nature-based solutions: contextualisation; scalability; and community-driven approaches/governance.
The Equitable Nature-Based Climate Resilience in Sub-Saharan Africa call is jointly funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) research councils (Natural Environment Research Council (NERC), Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC), Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC), Medical Research Council (MRC) and Science and Technology Facilities Council (STFC)), and is co-funded by the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). It seeks to enhance the understanding of scalability and contextualisation of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA).
