06-08-2024 - ANRS MIE and SAMRC Launch Joint French-South African Tuberculosis Call for Proposals

France's Agence Nationale de Recherche sur le Sida | Maladies Infectieuses Emergentes (ANRS MIE - National Agency for AIDS Research - Emerging Infectious Diseases) was founded in 1988 by the Ministry of Research and Technology as part of the government's plan to combat the AIDS epidemic. Its mission is to evaluate, promote, coordinate and fund research on AIDS, human retroviral infections and emerging infectious diseases, in collaboration with other French institutions conducting biological and medical research. The South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC), established in 1969, is a medical research organisation affiliated with the South African State. It was established to act as an independent body to coordinate healthcare and medical research throughout the country. Its primary research areas are: maternal, newborn and child health; HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis; non-communicable diseases; and interpersonal violence.
