11-02-2025 - Ocean and Climate PPR Launches Call for Postdoctoral Contracts on AI
The Programme Prioritaire de Recherche Océan et Climat (PPR Océan-Climat - Ocean and Climate Priority Research Programme), operated by CNRS and Ifremer, is designed around seven challenges intended to address research issues related to both advancement of climate and ecological knowledge, as well as blue economy, law, geostrategy, global management of ecosystems and societal wellbeing. In addition to these challenges, the PPR has identified specific needs for the development of native artificial intelligence (AI) solutions for ocean modelling, forecasting and monitoring. It is posited that AI, particularly deep learning, holds potential for developing improved earth system models. To address this, the PPR has launched a call for postdoctoral projects on AI-native approaches for ocean modelling, forecasting and monitoring.
